Good place

They came in a pack my apartment. Whatever was supposed to be in storage they label department. Whatever was supposed to be for the kitchen it was an in those boxes with they had written on the boxes it's been three days and I'm still trying to find my silverware. They packed up a 3000 square-foot house and I downsized for a new job to 1300 ft.². I'm sitting here crying because I felt like I just unpacked and repacked my whole entire house. Not to mention that 10 pieces of paper huge Paper when I opened it up there was to cough drops that was sitting on my kitchen counter that they had wrapped up. And I'm wasting my days and I'm tired and I'm frustrated and no one from Berger is calling me back. Do not hire them ever ever ever. It is a big waste of time

It Is the best moving company ever

I hired Berger to pack my apartment and move me less than an hour away. Things started out bad from the beginning. There was supposed to be 4 people to do the job, but, only 3 men showed up at 7:30 a.m. They spent approximately 30 minutes contemplating where to start. Once they started packing, things seemed to move pretty smoothly. Unfortunately, by the time the packing was completed and the truck was loaded, it was 3:30 p.m. A major deterrent was the fact that it started snowing around 10:30 that morning and continued all day. Well, to say that these guys cared would be a stretch. They broke my computer desk and asked me not to tell anyone that they broke it because they could lose their jobs. I told them not to worry. I didn't see them actually break it. I was in my apartment when one of them called out for me and I found them sitting on the stairs with my desk in several pieces. In my mind, I had no way of prooving that they broke it. That wasn't all. I have a bookshelf that mysteriously had a crack at the top and one of the guys immediately said, "I didn't do it. It was already like that." Again, I wasn't in the room at the time that it was being moved. Every so often one of them would make a comment about there being a lot of stuff to pack and they should have been able to come in the day before to pack. I had to be at my closing, which lasted pretty much all day, and Samantha, (my rep) said it wouldn't be a problem for them to come in and pack the morning of the move. There were things that I had told them not to pack, but they did, and things I told they should pack, but they didn't. I ended up moving a lot of things myself the next day. When they finally got to my new place, it took them almost 4 hours to unload the truck. By this time I was thoroughly frustrated and they asked if they could put boxes in the extra bedroom even if they weren't for that room. I said yes, due to my frustration and irritation. I hired a moving company because I wanted a smooth move. My kids have moved me in the past and it was always very stressful. I should have let my kids move me this time and I wish I had read the reviews before I made my decision to hire Berger. The icing on the cake was that, once they left and I had a chance to start going through boxes, I found that there was a couple of things missing. I still haven't found these things and I moved on January 9th, 2016. One of the missing items is a collector can of COKE with the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup win for 2015 on the can. One of the guys asked me about the can and asked if I would be mad if he popped it open. I told them they better not touch the cans. I had 2 cans. I now have one. I also have a 4-piece Tupperware canister set and one of the canisters is missing. How does that happen? I spoke with a company representative and he deducted $225.00 from my additional charges for the fact that there should have been 4 guys instead of only 3. I still feel that that I should not have had to pay any extra, but, I am not going to sit on the phone and argue with someone. I feel that "word of mouth" and my review will suffice. I don't plan on moving again for a long time to come, but, you can be sure that if anyone asks me about my move, I will tell them about my experience and tell them NOT to use Berger!!
